Ahava is a commissioned piece which focuses on the nature of love. On 31st December 2017, Frances' parents celebrated their wedding anniversary. She wanted a piece of artwork to gift to them; one that explored a different concept of love, to challenge how we see, and ultimately portray love.
‘Ahava’, in Hebrew, represents love as an act of doing rather than just a feeling. A mix of sharp and soft shapes, reflect the happiness as well as the struggles relationships come with. This piece focuses on the importance of appreciating the reality of relationships. It serves as a symbol of perseverance, effort, patience, understanding and openness - all vital in maintaining the bond with those close to you.
